'The House of Seasons' at the competition 'Next Generation Sustainable House'
For the second year a SuAT students team was invited to the international university architectural competition 'Next Generation Sustainable House' in Japan. This year the students had to develop the design of a 'Retreat in Nature' for a site in Taiki-Cho, Hokkaido, Japan. Our congratulations to the team of the Harvard University who won this year's final against the teams of TU Delft and NU Singapore.

3rd Prize at the Student Competition at he 4th International Holcim Forum, Mumbai
Congratulations to Kian Wee Chen and Marcel Brülisauer of our Future Cities Lab Module, Singapore for the 3rd Prize at the Student Competition at the 4th International Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction, Mumbai. The prize was awarded for the poster presentation 'Beyond Efficiency', describing a novel integrated design approach for highly sustainable buildings in the tropical climate under research at our Future Cities Lab Module, Singapore.

ASL to present at Workshop on Soft Robotics and Morphological Computation

'Building the Future' - Lecture at DETAIL research, BAU 2013
As part of the DETAIL research forum at BAU 2013, Munich, Arno Schlueter will present current research pursued at the SuAT Chair. Entitled 'Adaptive Systems - Symbiotic Design' the lecture focuses on sustainable architectural and urban design that is highly sensitive to its energetic context and local potentials to increase the efficiency of energy use and employ renewable energy sources.

We are happy to announce that the Book 'Torre David - Informal Vertical Communities', edited by Hubert Klumpner and Alfredo Brillembourg (Urban-Think Tank, ETHZ) has been released. SuAT has contributed a chapter on the possibilities of sustainable development and renewable energy use.

Torre David Project Exhibition wins Golden Lion at Venice Biennale 2012
The exhibition of the 'Torre David' project has been awarded the Golden Lion for the Best Project of the Common Ground Exhibition at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition – la Biennale di Venezia 2012. The project and exhibition was led by Urban-Think Tank (Alfredo Brillembourg & Hubert Klumpner – ETH Zürich). As part of the project, the SuAT team has contributed extensive research, analysis and concepts on energy usage, employment of renewable energy sources at the site, vertical mobility and integrated architectural design. Congratulations to all participants!

RevitPythonShell at ACADIA 2012
We are happy to notice that SuATs interactive programing tool 'RevitPythonShell' will be featured in a workshop entitled 'Python Scripting with Revit / Vasari' by Nathan Miller at the ACADIA 2012 conference in San Francisco. RevitPythonShell exposes the RevitAPI in Autodesk Revit Architecture and Project Vasari to IronPython (python on .NET) scripts. RevitPythonShell was created at SuAT by Daren Thomas as a tool to facilitate the development of energy analysis tools based on Revit models (DPx - Design Performance Framework).

Invited Speech at Int. Symposium 'Beyond Green! – Tall Buildings in a Sustainable Future'
Prof. Arno Schlueter has been invited as speaker at the International Symposium 'Beyond Green! – Tall Buildings in a Sustainable Future', organized by Werner Sobek of ILEK, University of Stuttgart. The talk on Thursday, October 11 will address urban energy concepts and technological concepts for high-rise buildings with special outlook on building automation and control.
