OReP - Optimal Retrofit of Preserved Buildings


In the public perception there is often the expectation that historical and preserved buildings are carriers of symbolic and exemplary endeavours. Due to preservation, retrofit options however are often highly constrained. The question arises of how competing objectives, medium- and long-term priorities can be achieved. The project aims to achieve a better understanding of possible energetic improvements of preserved buildings by incorporating cultural and economic risks assessment.

The research of SuAT focuses on a process-oriented, object-specific approach for reducing the energy consumption and emissions by utilizing novel wireless sensor-based measurements, energy and system modeling for the development of optimal retrofit solutions.
